As the Big Switch-on takes place on the 31st January 2027, businesses are now having to upgrade their existing legacy telephones systems to move to more robust future-proof hosted cloud telephony solutions.
This will allow more in control of their communications, not only whilst in the office, but also when working remotely via Mobile Apps & PC Soft phones, allowing them to grow, innovate and compete on a global scale, whilst still presenting the same contact telephone number across all devices.
The plan to withdraw BT and Openreach’s old copper-based analogue line services (PSTN phones and WLR), which was due to be completed by December 2025, has been delayed until 31st January 2027 in order to give broadband ISPs, telecare providers and consumers more time to adapt.
For most people upgrading to digital services should be straightforward. Moving to a digital phone line means that your phone service will be delivered over the internet, similar to Zoom or Skyp.
Why Switch to Digital Phone Lines?
- Cost Efficiency: Lower costs for calls, easier maintenance, and scalability.
